Lush's Ocean Salt Face Scrub

Have you ever spent a day at the beach, just chillin’ in the ocean? Some people say the ocean wrecks their skin / hair, and I call them liars because I spent my late teens years glued to a surfboard, and my skin and nails never looked better. Why do you think saltwater pools are so popular? Salt helps draws all the impurities out of your skin, and Lush’s Ocean Salt Scrub is a surf sesh for your skin in a bottle. The results I ended up with remind me of how awesome my skin was back then – just stupid healthy, glowing, and revitalized.

It’s one of their best-sellers and for good reason. Think about what a salt scrub can do for your body (oh hello, gorgeous glow) and multiply it by awesome for your face. It helps boost circulation, brightens and resurfaces and smoothes and cleanses, and it has amazing ingredients that make it smell and taste yummy.

Now, when I say it tastes yummy, I am not, by any means, saying you should eat it or that it’s edible, but I’ve gotten some in my mouth while in the shower because hey, that happens, and it does taste like salt and lime, and makes me want a Corona by the time I’m out of the shower. Then again I could always go for a cold Corona :) However, do be careful: the combination of fresh lime (extracted in VODKA!) and sea salt can really sting your fingers if you have any cut-up cuticles (guilty), and it’s not a pleasant feeling. Stupid cuticles!

It also contains fresh avocado butter and coconut fat, both awesome moisturizers for your face. My oily-skinned grossness got to use this fab scrub daily and it really helps beat the winter blues. It’s not inexpensive, by any means, at $32.95 for 8.8 ounces, but it’s worth every single penny, including the tax. I would definitely recommend this, and it may even be a contender for my upcoming “100 Beauty Products to Try Before You Die” post. Just sayin’.

  1. Ugh – we have a little Lush shop in our Macy’s, and I’ve been dying to try it for ages, but it really is just crazy expensive. Maybe I’ll suddenly find some wealthy benefactor who wants me to be pampered and beautiful! lol
